SHINY PENNY:From Robbie D to Arthur Lee and Beyond

DAYS THREE AND FOUR:

Sir Christof and I were indeed blessed to receive word of Arthur Lee's funeral on Saturday and attend. Most famous as the founder and frontman of the seminal 60's band LOVE, this man was a poet and saw some hard living. He once asked me to marry him at CBGB's and I was honored to say goodbye on behalf of the many, many fine musicians who could site him as a giant inspirator. Highlights included: Hearing LOVE being blasted in the chapel, stories from childhood pals, Jimi Hendrix's little brother telling tales of Arthur rescuing him from the street, his ubiquitous hat on the coffin lid and Boyd Rice's name above mine in the guest book. He rests in the same cemetery as Liberace, just over the hill. Imagine that musical duet on a foggy moonless night! There is no official site, but THIS is pretty thorough for the uninitiated. Good Bye and RIP Arthur Lee.
